  align="alignright" width="162"] Michael Piantedosi\, Director of Conserva
 tion\, Native Plant Trust[/caption]\n\nAt a time of great change globally\
 , local conservation lands and public green spaces are more important plac
 es to invest time and effort than ever. The common driver of many efforts
 to retain plant biodiversity - from large tracts of wilderness area to pol
 linator gardens in cities and suburbs – is seeds. Michael will discuss t
 he use of native seeds and the role native plants play in maintaining over
 all biodiversity on our landscapes\, from the hyperlocal to the internatio
 nal. Michael will highlight work Native Plant Trust and collaborators have
  done to build a supply of locally-adapted\, native species seed in the no
 rtheast US. Gardeners and conservation land managers can help to sustain a
 nd protect native plant populations by using these carefully documented\,
 wild-sourced seeds on both public and private sites of almost any size. We
  may not know what the future holds\, but what is certain is that we will
 need multi-layered\, science-based approaches to saving plant diversity an
 d the life it sustains\, and that all begins with a seed.\nREGISTER\nThis
