DESCRIPTION:Join area naturalist Jeff Adams in this winter walk in Newton
 ’s Kennard Park as he identifies\ntrees and shrubs without their telltal
 e leaves. Discover how to identify plants by their branching\npatterns\, b
 ark\, buds\, galls\, and any persistent fruits that remain after the end o
 f autumn. Jeff will\nalso look at winter weeds—hardy non-woody plants th
 at stand up tall even through the colder\nmonths—and share a trove of na
 tural history and folklore about various plants.  Jeff has led\nwalks for
  a variety of area organizations\, including the Friends of the Fells\, Li
 ncoln Land\nConservation Trust and the Newton Conservators. Dress for an e
 xtended time in wintry weather\nand wear sturdy shoes. Kennard Park’s te
 rrain is uneven and\, in some places\, hilly. Meet at\nthe parking lot on 
 246 Dudley Road. Enrollment is limited to 20 people.\n\nRain date: Sunday\
