SUMMARY:Hammond Woods Bioblitz – Fall Pollinators and More!
DESCRIPTION:Come explore the pollinators of late summer and fall at Hammond
  Woods\, Newton’s largest conservation area and improve your insect and 
 plant identification skills. Under the leadership of Jonathan Regosin\, a 
 director at Newton Conservators and Consulting Biologist for the Massachus
 etts Division of Fisheries &amp\; Wildlife\, participants will learn how t
 o use the iNaturalist app to document and identify species. Hammond Woods
 ’s habitats include noted rock outcroppings of Roxbury Puddingstone\, br
 ooks\, ponds\, wetlands\, fields\, and a historic woodland garden.\nThese 
 BioBlitz events are part of a larger effort by Newton Conservators to docu
 ment and raise awareness about the great diversity of plants and animals i
 n Newton’s open spaces. Previous iNaturalist observations for Hammond/We
 bster Woods are available here.  Participants may go off-trail to identif
 y flora and fauna and should dress appropriately. Meet at Hammond Pond tra
 ilhead.\nRegistration: Limited to 30 people. Registration is required so 
 we can send you scheduling changes\, directions or advice (such as about t
