SUMMARY:Nature Walk Through Sawmill Brook Conservation Area
DESCRIPTION:Follow intrepid naturalist and New Conservators’ director Kat
 herine Howard as she walks through Sawmill Brook’s upland woods\, wetlan
 ds\, rock walls\, and dramatic outcroppings of our state rock\, Roxbury Pu
 ddingstone. Katherine will lead walk participants on a 1.2-mile exploratio
 n of the woodland area from Vine Street to Marla Circle and return along t
 he brook (the walk will also cover the adjoining “new” section acquire
 d in 2004 and blazed in recent years). The woodland trail is mostly flat\,
  but uneven and rocky underfoot\, and there are parts over wetlands that a
 re traversed on wood planks called “bog bridges.” Parking is available
  at the Vine Street entrance lot and on the street.\n\nRain Date: Saturday
