SUMMARY:Newton Fourth of July Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Come say hello at our green Newton Conservators tent on Albemar
 le/Halloran Field during the big Newton July Fourth Celebration. Learn mor
 e about our free nature related programs this summer and fall. We'll be se
 t up from around 1 to 4 pm at the Open Air Market nearer to the gazebo on 
 Albemarle Road.\n\nAt Albemarle there is also a carnival featuring kiddie 
 amusement rides by Cushing Amusements\, local vendor booths\, and a handma
 de craft fair. At 2 pm gather at the gazebo to enjoy the music of Newton's
  own community ukulele ensemble\, The City Hall Strummers\, and stick arou
 nd for the Bay Colony Brass at 3pm. There will be plenty of tables for enj
 oying refreshments from a variety of food trucks parked around the grounds
 .\n\nNewton’s own Kat Chapman and her band-mate and co-producer Chris Le
 adbetter fire up the main stage at 5:30pm. Come early to save your space i
 n the field. At 7pm things really kick up with the headliner band East Coa
 st Soul bringing the crowd to their feet dancing and singing till dark. Tr
 y out the delicious food from the many food trucks and enjoy the open spac
 e under the stars. At 9:10 pm settle in for the grand finale…a fantastic
  fireworks display!\n\nWhile most of the events are free on the 4th\, ther
 e is a charge for food trucks and the carnival. A portion of these sales a
 re sent back to the community in the form of free programs and events.\n\n
 Also check out the FREE Kids Morning\, 10am – Noon\, at Newton Centre Bo
 wl off Tyler Terrace for children ages 3-12.\nChildren and families are in
 vited to join in the Patriotic Costume Parade\, Grand Pet Promenade\, Deco
 rated Bicycle Parade\, make a July 4th parade wand at the arts/crafts tabl
 e and more. FREE ice cream courtesy of Cabot’s Ice Cream. Kids Morning i
 s cancelled in the event of rain.
