DESCRIPTION:Late April and early May are exciting times for birding as spri
 ng migrants pass through Newton and resident birds return to nest here.  
 Come join us for a lively presentation on Newton birding hotspots and what
  birds we might expect to see locally in the coming weeks of migration sea
 son.  Learn about the varied sights and sounds of colorful wood warblers\
 , orioles\, thrushes\, tanagers\, and vireos.  Whether you’re a seasone
 d pro or just someone who wonders what that bright yellow bird in the back
 yard is\, this is for you!\n\n[caption id="attachment_18897" align="alignr
 ight" width="170"] Pete Gilmore[/caption]\n\nOur guide for the evening is 
 Pete Gilmore who has been birding since 1951.  Pete\, a retired Northeast
 ern math professor\,  serves on the board of the Newton Conservators and 
 has led annual walks at Cold Spring Park\, helped organize the Newton Chri
 stmas Bird Count\, written numerous articles on Newton birding\, was activ
 e with the Brookline Bird Club as its field trip coordinator\, and is an a
 mazing bird photographer.\n\nThis free informative presentation takes plac
 e on Monday\, April 27 from 7:00-8:15 pm at the Newton Free Library (330 H
 omer St) and is cosponsored by Newton Parks\, Recreation &amp\; Culture an
 d  Newton Conservators.  Attendance is free but registration is requeste
 d through Newton Parks\, Recreation &amp\; Culture at https://newtonma.myr
