DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 3 is NewtonSERVES\,  Newton's annual day of servi
 ce\, administered by the Newton Parks &amp\; Recreation Department.  Vol
 unteer efforts focus on cleaning and improving our parks\, school grounds\
 , open space areas\, and conservation lands.\n\nNewton Conservators is spo
 nsoring four invasive removal events that day.   Registration is strongl
 y encouraged for participating\; register starting March 16 through the of
 ficial NewtonSERVES website of Newton Parks\, Recreation &amp\; Culture De
 partment:  www.newtonma.gov/newtonserves.  Here are the four Newton Cons
 ervators sponsored projects:\n\n 	Sunday\, May 3\, 2025\, 9:00 am - Noon 
  -  Cold Spring Park Invasives Pull\n 	Sunday\, May 3\, 2025\, 9:00 am - 
 Noon  -  Dolan Pond Invasives Pull\n 	Sunday\, May 3\, 2025\, 9:00 am - 
 Noon  -  Nahanton Park Invasives Pull\n 	Sunday\, May 3\, 2025\, 1:00 pm
  - 4:00 pm -  Houghton Garden Invasives Pull\n\nCome help eradicate the s
 oil-damaging invasive garlic mustard and other invasives from our open spa
 ces.  Wear long pants tucked into socks\, and bring garden gloves\, sunsc
 reen\, a hat\, and water.  Tools are not needed for garlic mustard pullin
 g.  There will be volunteer forms to sign at the event itself if you fail
  to pre-register\, but ideally you should pre-register with Newton Parks &
 amp\; Recreation.  The official site for NewtonSERVES is at www.newtonma.
 gov/newtonserves.  The deadline to register online ahead of time is Apri
 l 29.\nFrom that page you will be able to scroll to the NewtonSERVES proje
 ct page to complete the registration.  Note there is no charge to sign u
 p for NewtonSERVES.  The registration process will include electronicall
 y signing a volunteer form.\nTo register as a volunteer\, you must be 18 y
 ears of age or older. Volunteers under 18 years of age MUST be accompanied
  by an adult. Volunteers under 18 are not required to register but MUST be
  accompanied by a registered adult volunteer. Each volunteer\, including 
 minors\, must have a signed Newton Serves Release Form as part of their 
 registration\nThere is no rain date for the event and unless it’s pourin
 g heavily or there is a thunderstorm\, we will be out there.  You do not
  have to come for the entire event but earlier is better.  If you have qu
