SUMMARY:NewtonSERVES Invasive Pulls - 4 Locations!
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 4 is NewtonSERVES\,  Newton's annual day of servi
 ce\, administered by the Newton Parks\, Recreation and Culture Department.
   Volunteer efforts focus on cleaning and improving our parks\, school g
 rounds\, open space areas\, and conservation lands.\n\nNewton Conservators
  is sponsoring four invasive removal events that day.   Registration is 
 strongly encouraged for participating\; register through the official Newt
 onSERVES website of Newton Parks\, Recreation &amp\; Culture Department:

 Nahanton Park Invasives Pull\n 	Sunday\, May 4\, 2025\, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm 
 -  Houghton Garden Invasives Pull\n\nCome help eradicate the soil-damagin
 g invasive garlic mustard and other invasives from our open spaces.  Wear
  long pants tucked into socks\, and bring garden gloves\, sunscreen\, a ha
 t\, and water.  Tools are not needed for garlic mustard pulling.  There 
  will be volunteer forms to sign at the event itself if you fail to pre-r
 egister\, but ideally you should pre-register with Newton Parks\, Recreati
 on\, and Culture.  The official site for NewtonSERVES is at www.newtonma.
 gov/newtonserves.  The deadline to register online ahead of time is May 
 1.\nTo register online as a volunteer\, officially\, first go to www.newt
 onmarec.com and sign in or create an account if you do not already have o
 ne for the many fine programs run by our Parks department.\nNext you can g
 o to the NewtonSERVES Volunteer Registration page at\nhttps://www.newtonma
 .gov/government/parks-recreation-culture/newton-serves\nYou'll then be abl
 e to choose one of the projects by scrolling down going to their NewtonS
 ERVES project page to complete the registration.  Note there is no charg
 e to sign up for NewtonSERVES.  The registration process will include el
 ectronically signing a volunteer form.\nTo register as a volunteer\, you m
 ust be 18 years of age or older. Volunteers under 18 years of age MUST be 
 accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under 18 are not required to register 
 but MUST be accompanied by a registered adult volunteer. Each volunteer\,
  including minors\, must have a signed Newton Serves Release Form as par
 t of their registration\nThere is no rain date for the event and unless it
 ’s pouring heavily or there is a thunderstorm\, we will be out there.
