 than 60% as people venture outside for exercise\, solace\, self-care and t

rs on the trail during the fall and winter COVID-19 surge.\n\nThroughout t
he pandemic\, trails and the outdoors have provided a much-needed way to s

reports of increasing numbers of cases and new public health measures bein

access to the outdoors and trails.\n\nThe outdoors has proven to be one of
the safest places for recreation during the pandemic\, but as winter take
s hold and weather patterns shift in much of the country\, it may feel har
der to get motivated to head outside. There are also different considerati
ons when spending time outside in the fall and winter.\n\nThat's why we're
gathering RTC board members Dr. Rose Gowen and Dr. Jim Sallis to dig in o
n ways to safely get outside this winter—whether you live in a place tha
t has extreme weather or you're struggling with the shorter days. They wil
l bring their expertise as health professionals\, local officials and outd
oor advocates to the conversation about getting out on the trail and choos
 ing to #RecreateResponsibly.\n\nSpeakers:\n• Rose Gowen\, M.D.\, Brownsv
 ille\, Texas\, City Commissioner\n• Jim Sallis\, Ph.D.\, Distinguished P
rofessor Emeritus of Family Medicine and Public Health at the University o
f California\, San Diego\n• Vasu Sojitra Professional Athlete and Divers
