 n and nonfiction. She leads regular fungal forays at Harvard’s Arnold Ar
 boretum and has given lectures and led workshops for mycological clubs and
  environmental organizations around the country. Her writing has appeared 
 in Science\, Orion\, Necessary fiction\, and Obsidian\, among other pub
 lications. Her book of lyric essays inspired by fungi\, Fearless\, Sleepl
 ess\, Deathless: What Fungi Taught Me about Nourishment\, Poison\, Ecology
 \, Hidden Histories\, Zombies\, and Black Survival was shortlisted for th
 e OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature\, is a finalist for the Massach
 usetts Book Award\, and was the recipient of the Don Kissel Prize for Nonf
