Grants Awarded

The Conservators Grants Program awards funds to Newton teachers, community groups, and other organizations that need funding for conservation-related projects.

Recent grant recipients have included the following:

    • Newton Cemetery and Arboretum Tree Tour: Friends of Newton Cemetery were awarded $800 to install tree tags with interpretive signage that includes the common name and botanical name of each tree. These tags allow participants on the self-guided tour to follow along on Newton Cemetery’s website through their phones.
    • Cold Spring Park Pollinator Garden: Eagle Scout Dobi Wallaber and Friends of Cold Spring Park were awarded $1000 to create a pollinator garden following Dr. Robert Gegear’s research for endangered pollinators.  More information on the garden.
