November
Winterberry grows to be six to 10 feet high. You will find winterberry in both wet and dry soils in woodlands, swamps, bogs and along the edges of ponds. Winterberry has bright green oval leaves and purplish-green young branches. Winterberry is most noticeable in the winter, when the female plants are covered by bright orange and red berries. These berries are eaten by the northern mockingbird, American robin, catbird, brown thrasher and the hermit thrush.
