In September 2023, nine wayfinding posts were installed on the trails of Cold Spring Park. The project, led by Life Scout Owen Serra, was sponsored by Scouts BSA Troop 209, the Friends of Cold Spring Park, and Newton’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Culture.
The signposts indicate paths to exits, parking, and key landmarks like the dog park.
A QR code on each sign can be scanned to take users to a digital map of the park, as well as other information about the park.
Each sign has a unique code to help 911 services to pinpoint the location of an emergency.
