The Friends of Cold Spring Park and the Zervas School PTO invite you to join them to hear naturalist Sam Jaffe, founder of The Caterpillar Lab, talk about Cold Spring Park.
Sam grew up playing in the park, collecting insects and identifying its plants & animals. He’s identified 150 species of birds, 32 butterflies and many species of reptiles, amphibians, insects and mammals in the park. Learn about:
- The park’s many diverse habitats and inhabitants
- How Sam is working with Zervas teachers to use the park as an outdoor classroom
- Threats to the park’s ecosystem, and how you can help preserve it
- Plans to rehabilitate the trail, and progress to date
