The Blue Heron Trail in Waltham February 9, 2019September 18, 2015 A section of the DCR Blue Heron Trail extends from the Moody Street Bridge in Waltham south to DCR’s Forest Grove Reservation, which in turn connects to Auburndale Park in Newton. Some sights along the way: The Blue Heron Trail runs next to the Watch Factory, just south of the Prospect Street Bridge. The pilings from Nuttings on the Charles, a boat house and dance hall at Prospect Street that burned down in 1961. Nuttings on the Charles in 1927. This stretch of the trail is named after Arthur and Sidney Barnes, who donated funds for the construction of the boat launch and the permanent maintenance of the trail.
