Gardening for Pollinators Events

Grow Native Massachusetts is promoting several “gardening for pollinators” events we believe to be of interest to many in our community. While these events are not sponsored by Newton Conservators, we want you to know about them – they are free, open to the public, and appear online via Zoom. Register to attend on their website.

Their Massachusetts Pollinator Network (MAPN) kicks off its 2026 monthly presentations considering how individual gardeners and their choices affect pollinators and ecosystems across Massachusetts. On the first Wednesday of every month, they host informal, drop-in Zoom meetings where you can learn about their work, share projects, ask questions, and exchange knowledge, ideas, and updates.

On January 21st, Kristin O’Brien, Conservation Restriction Manager at Sudbury Valley Trustees, will discuss invasive plant management and the critical role private landowners play in protecting healthy landscapes.

On January 27th, wildlife biologist Sam Droege of the USGS Bee Lab will explore how plant choices can either support or undermine Massachusetts’ rarer, specialist bees.
